The Swedish company “Volvo” is going to electrify its cars by 2030. And this year, the last model with a diesel engine will come off the assembly line.
According to “Volvo”’s press service, the company will become climate neutral by 2040. After deciding to stop developing new internal combustion engines, the manufacturer stopped investing and sold a stake to a joint venture with EIC assets.
According to CEO Jim Rowen, electric powertrains are the future. They vibrate less and make less noise and are more resourceful in maintenance.
“Volvo” has made significant progress in this direction. Four years ago, most of the cars it sold in Europe had diesel engines. Now, the company’s sales are dominated by electrified cars with hybrid or electric emissions.
