To improve visibility, some drivers replace the headlights with LED, halogen or xenon ones. But is it legal to do so?
Ukrainian legislation allows the installation of only the lamps specified by the car manufacturer.
There is also an additional requirement for xenons. They cannot be used without an automatic corrector of the angle of inclination of the headlights and devices for cleaning the headlights.
For violation of the requirements for the use of headlights, the driver can be fined 510 UAH (Part 2, Article 122 of the Criminal Procedure Code). The amount will be somewhat smaller if the violation is committed for the first time – UAH 340. If the police record a repeat violation within a year, the driver may be disqualified from driving for 3-6 months.
