In Ukraine, a new fine for drivers is to be introduced

A draft law with a proposal to charge drivers up to 17,000 hryvnias as a fine has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration. What will this punishment be for?

The authors of the draft law demand to collect money from bikers who drift within the boundaries of populated areas. They draw attention to the growing number of accidents involving such vehicles. Drivers who flaunt their drifting skills not only disturb public peace, but also threaten the safety of others.

It is proposed to punish drifters with a fine of 500 tax-free minimum incomes of an a citizen, which is 8,500 hryvnias. In case of repeated violation, the penalty amount may double.

Experts draw attention to the fact that the corresponding amendments to the legislation are long overdue, but legislators should distinguish responsibility for intentional drifting from unintentional skidding due to technical malfunctions of the car.

The Ukrainian designer showed the Leleka concept car

Roman Pryadko, who already has successful projects, such as the updated “Zaporozhtsi” and “Slavuti”, decided to go further and create a completely new car brand – “Leleka”.

The designer presented his vision of a luxury car from Ukraine, and for this he even created a separate brand – “Leleka”. He worked on the design of the logo for the brand and the first model, made in the style of “gran turismo”.

The first product of the brand – “Leleka” GTS Concept 2025 – a substantial liftback, similar to the Porsche Panamera. It combines all modern elements, such as an elongated sports body, optics with a characteristic signature, a light strip at the back and rather large and stylish rims. Roman also designed a detailed logo and created a typeface for writing the brand name.

Looking at the radiator grille and exhaust pipes, one can draw an obvious conclusion: “Leleka GTS” is not an electric car. It is likely to have an internal combustion engine or a hybrid system in which the gas engine and electric engine work in tandem. Unfortunately, the designer has not shown any illustrations of the interior of the car.

It is important to note that Roman Pryadko demonstrates exclusively his own idea of what design Ukrainian cars could have, and these concepts have nothing to do with actual production at any factories.

Alpine is preparing a hypercar with a hydrogen engine

Some car manufacturers are convinced that it is too early to write off the internal combustion engine. Yes, Toyota believes that an internal combustion engine can be made to burn hydrogen instead of fossil fuels. Porsche and Lamborghini believe that it is synthetic fuel that can become a diesel engine. In turn, the Alpine company works on a hydrogen version of the engine, and the new Alpenglow Hy4 hypercar is equipped with this type of a power plant.

The novelty is an evolutionary development of the static Alpenglow concept car of 2022. The hydrogen hypercar was equipped with a 2-liter engine with a capacity of 340 horsepower. The four-cylinder diesel engine is powered by three hydrogen tanks, each of which contains about 8 kg of hydrogen under a pressure of 700 bar.

In addition, Alpine is working on a more powerful engine. It is noted that the new V6 was developed by French engineers specifically for working on water. The next Alpenglow variant, which is likely to be called the Hy6, will debut in late 2024.

The four-cylinder hypercar is supposed  to make its public debut at the 2024 FIA WEC 2024 FIA WEC Six Hours of Spa. It will then head to France to attend the 24 Hours of Le Mans, scheduled for June 14-15.

Although the Hy4 is a track-only machine, Alpine believes that the technology of the diesel engine working on hydrogen makes sense in models designed for operation on public roads.
